How often should you carry out maintenance on a ventilation system?

It depends on the type of ventilation system you have, the environment it’s used in, and how busy your building is.

If you get in touch, we’d be happy to advise how frequently you should carry out maintenance.

The process varies depending on the type of system.

However it typically involves checking the individual components, inspecting and replacing the filters, cleaning the vents and ductwork, and carrying out performance monitoring using specialist tools.

Planned preventative maintenance (or PPM) is proactive maintenance you carry out on a regular basis to reduce the risk of your ventilation system breaking down.

Reactive maintenance takes place when you identify an issue with your ventilation system.

Planned maintenance is ideal, but there may be some circumstances where reactive maintenance is unavoidable.
