What is planned preventative maintenance?

Planned preventative maintenance (also known as PPM) is proactive maintenance you carry out on a regular basis to make sure your ventilation system is running smoothly.

It’s the opposite of reactive maintenance, which takes place when you identify an issue with your ventilation system.

It typically involves checking the individual components, inspecting and replacing the filters, cleaning the vents and ductwork, and carrying out performance monitoring to ensure the ventilation is compliant with regulations.

It depends on the type of ventilation system you have, the environment it’s used in, and how busy your building is.
